MAYSUNS band

US

MAYSUNS is an alternative rock band from Alexandria, VA. The six-piece group has spent years leaning into both expression and tension — with a sound between stillness and force, between the intimate and the overwhelming.

Formerly known as Hanoi Ragmen, in 2019 the band self-released their first EP, Game. Their 2022 album, The Oldlight, released by Baffin Records, earned them two DC Wammie Music Awards for Best Rock Album and Best Rock Song for Foolhearted. In 2023, the band hit the road, bringing their high-energy live shows to colleges up and down the coast and playing sold-out shows at iconic venues in New York City and Washington D.C. Logging more than 100 live performances, they continued to evolve and create new music.

The band’s new chapter began in 2024 as MAYSUNS, with the self-release of two new singles, Silencer and Flatiron. In 2025, the band released an EP, Coloso. The MAYSUNS catalog is a sonic playground, where rock lives alongside blues, funk, soaring ballads and dance-ready pop. The band's sound is a testament to their chemistry, passion, and relentless pursuit of authentic expression.

The band is currently in the studio recording their next full-length album, set to be released in early 2026.

MAYSUNS is Gabe Harr (vocals & guitar), Maxim Powell (guitar & vocals), Beck Moniz (bass), Nathan Argust (drums), Kostia Howard (saxophone), not pictured: Shaan Shuster (keyboards).
